How to do abdominal crunches

Initially you have to set-out mat on the floor where you have to lie down on your back. Then you have to bend your knees in such a way that your feet stays on the floor but the toe facing outwards. However, ensure that your feet, legs and back are in a very comfortable position.
Next is to control you breath while lying flat on the floor and then releasing it as you sit-up.
Later, you have to rest your hands just behind your head in such a posture where your arms and hands must be used to support your neck and head and not to push your body.
Next step is to tighten or squeeze your abdominal muscles in order to get maximum strength.
Then slowly try to turn your body in front so that you bow down at your waist height. Depending upon your objectives and the kind of crunch you would like, lift your shoulders and head forward at a suitable angle. Keep in mind to breathe out as you are rolling forward.
Hold this particular position for some time before you lie back on the resting position. Also keep in mind to breathe as you are lying down.
Try to repeat this exercise several times in order to reach your ultimate goal.
